Cakes by Lily

 I am a blessed woman of God, married, with 3 daughters & 3 handsome grandsons. Now that all the children have left home to start their life with their families, I am free to do what I've always enjoyed doing.......  Teaching, Baking, Cake Decorating & being able to travel to lots of Cake Shows to participate with an entry, or just to learn from the amazingly talented men & woman.

I had the opportunity to go back to school, Le Cordon Bleu Seattle & graduated in Patisserie & Baking as a Pastry  Chef, &  was one of the three top students. It was really a lot of hard work & the course was very intense, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

Every year we have a WASSA Cake & Confectionery Show, Mid Year ICES Meetings, CA Cake Camp in Las Vegas, ICES Conventions & Sweet Retreat in Oregon, Cake Love in Vancouver, BC every other year.

This year, 2011, I'm really happy to say that I'll be going to Vancouver BC for  Cake Love. It's very much like ICES but on a much smaller scale & not connected to ICES in any way.

Now my aim is to teach anybody who wants to learn Pastries, European Cakes, Basic Cake Decorating, Gum-paste Flowers, Miniature flowers etc, how to do a Wedding Cake, Topsy Turvy Cake, Cake Toppers, & anything your heart desires.

If for any reason I'm not able to teach you, I'll direct you to someone who can teach you, as there are a great variety of talented Cake Artists here in Utah.

I had the opportunity to take classes from world renowned Cake Artists such as Nicholas Lodge(US), Kate Fielder(Calgary, Canada), "The Chocolate Man" Bill Fredericks (US), Chef Laurel Silverberg(US), Janet Pfertner(US), Maisie Parrish(UK), Cecilia Morano (Argentina), Kathleen Lange(US) , Judi Smith(US),  Amelia Carbine(US), Roland Winbeckler(US), The Sweet Southern Sisters(US), Kim Morrison(US), Keith B Ryder(US), Kathy Scott(US) & Robert Haynes(UK) at Mother of Cakes in PA.

I've also attended Demos, given by Lucinda Larson-Olds, Linda Reese, Pam Weston, Ewald Notter, Anil Rohira, Julie Usher, Mari Senaga, Kelly Lance, Rhoda Sheridan, Mary Reichelt,  Barbara Marrs McKay, Carol Webb, Chef  Marilyn Santos-McNabb, Peggy Tucker,  (in England), Mike Cote , Titia McCluckie, Maureen Steel (UT), Janell Brown of One Sweet Slice( recent winner of "CupCake Wars" on Food Network,  Jennifer Hill of Salt Cake City,  Fabby Soderquist, Doree Tateoka, Kathy Graham of Ascot Royale Chocolates, Maureen Steel, Robin & Ashley Carsey  & a few others.

Now my aim is to keep improving my skills by practicing  & perfecting all that I know. 

I've also done a few Demonstrations at our Monthly Meetings and  Days of Sharing in WA, OR ,UT, at WASSA Annual Cake Shows in 2010,2012 & at ICES 2012 at the booth of Mother of Cake. 

I was an Alt Rep for WA State, when I was in WA  & when I moved to UT, I was elected to be their UT State Rep.
